Terms of Service

1. About NUTT

NUTT is a student-run campus delivery platform operating at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDOM), currently focused on the College of Informatics and Virtual Education (CIVE) campus in Dodoma, Tanzania. NUTT connects customers who need items delivered with student riders who fulfill those deliveries. By creating an account or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service.

2. Service scope

NUTT currently operates on the UDOM CIVE campus and select surrounding areas in Dodoma. Service availability depends on rider availability and operating hours (7 AM – 10 PM daily).

  • •Campus deliveries are charged a flat fee of 500 TZS.
  • •Tanzania-wide deliveries are priced by distance from a base rate.
  • •NUTT does not guarantee availability at all times. Service may be suspended due to weather, low rider availability, or other operational factors.

3. User accounts

To place an order you must sign in using a Google account. You are responsible for:

  • •Keeping your Google account credentials secure.
  • •All activity that occurs under your account.
  • •Providing accurate delivery information when placing orders.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. NUTT is intended for use by students, staff, and visitors of UDOM.

4. User responsibilities

When using NUTT, you agree to:

  • •Provide accurate order details: Incorrect pickup or delivery addresses, or misleading item descriptions, may result in failed deliveries with no refund.
  • •Be available to receive your order: Be reachable and present at the drop-off location at the time of delivery.
  • •Lawful use only: Do not use NUTT to transport illegal, dangerous, or prohibited items, including but not limited to controlled substances, weapons, or stolen goods.
  • •Treat riders respectfully: Harassment, threats, or abusive behaviour toward NUTT riders or staff will result in immediate account suspension.
  • •No misuse of the platform: Do not attempt to circumvent pricing, abuse promotions, or manipulate the platform in any way.

5. Payment terms

NUTT operates on a cash on delivery model. No upfront payment is required. Payment is made directly to the rider when the order is delivered.

  • •Campus (CIVE) deliveries: 500 TZS flat fee, regardless of distance within campus.
  • •Non-campus deliveries: priced by distance (base rate + per-km charge).
  • •Optional add-ons (e.g., dish-washing: +300 TZS) are shown at checkout and confirmed before order placement.
  • •Prices are displayed in Tanzanian Shillings (TZS). NUTT reserves the right to update pricing with reasonable notice.
  • •Refunds are not available for orders that were correctly fulfilled. If an order was not fulfilled due to rider error, contact us within 24 hours.

6. Limitation of liability

NUTT provides a platform connecting customers with riders. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NUTT is not liable for:

  • •Delivery delays caused by rider unavailability, campus congestion, weather, or other factors outside our control.
  • •Failed deliveries resulting from incorrect addresses or the customer being unreachable at drop-off.
  • •Unavailable items — NUTT does not stock goods; we only transport what the customer instructs. If a vendor cannot fulfill an item, NUTT is not responsible.
  • •Damage or loss of items in transit, beyond what is covered by direct rider liability.
  • •Service interruptions due to maintenance, infrastructure issues, or force majeure events.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the service shall not exceed the delivery fee paid for the order in question.

7. Account termination

NUTT reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that:

  • •Violate these Terms of Service.
  • •Engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal activity.
  • •Repeatedly submit false or misleading orders.
  • •Harass or threaten riders, staff, or other users.

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. See our Privacy Policy for information on data deletion.

8. Modifications to terms

NUTT may update these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of material changes through the app. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes arising from use of NUTT will be resolved under Tanzanian jurisdiction.
